Volkswagen Planning an Evoque Killer
There is hardly any doubt that the Range Rover Evoque has been a runway success and Land Rover cars are all smiles after such a response. Now other car makers are pondering over a possible competitor and Volkswagen has been the first to send clear signals to the automobile fraternity that it is well up to the competition. In the recently concluded Tokyo Motor Show, VW had showcased a cross coupe concept car and every bit of it justified that it was built keeping the Range Rover Evoque in mind. It is a smallish SUV by VW and the latest entrant in the slightly new segment created by Land Rover.
This VW Cross Coupe shares similar platform as the Volkswagen cars, VW Golf and the Audi A3 and is All Wheel Drive. Another sibling from the family, the Audi Q3 is already pitted against the Evoque. It’ll then be interesting to see the price point of this VW car, but we’re guessing that it’ll be definitely priced below the Evouque and the Q3. The Cross Coupe from the Volkswagen stable was definitely one of the best looking cars in the Tokyo Motor Show. The car is conspicuous by its wide stance, low roof, spectacularly designed front and the rear body; it has surely personified the modern crossover with that debonair appeal.
When you look closely at the design of the car, you can anticipate the touch of future from the VW group in what could be termed as the future crossover designs. Both the interior and the exterior of the car are sporty, but not as classy as the Q3 or the Evoque for that matter. The interior is not quite as one would expect in a conventional VW car; it is a lot sportier and casual than most of the VWs and definitely a lot more energetic.
